AMOREM affirms commitment to integrity amid national hospice fraud investigations
As the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the US Department of Justice (DOJ) increase national investigations into hospice fraud, AMOREM reaffirms its commitment to ethical practices, transparency and high-quality patient care.
Last month, the National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation (NPHI) organized a site visit for CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas. During the visit, Dr. Oz met with senior leadership and the NPHI team, toured the facilities and spent significant time discussing hospice program integrity. He emphasized the importance of directing audit and enforcement efforts toward unethical organizations—while avoiding unnecessary burdens on well-intentioned, mission-driven hospice providers.
“We fully support CMS and DOJ efforts to protect patients and ensure program integrity,” says AMOREM CEO April Moore. “Strong oversight helps preserve trust in hospice services and allows ethical, community-based providers like AMOREM to continue serving patients with compassion and accountability."
Community Health Accreditation Partner Inc., (CHAP) announced that AMOREM has been awarded CHAP Accreditation under the Standards of Excellence, confirming compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation and certification as a Medicare provider. CHAP Accreditation reflects adherence to nationally recognized standards for quality, governance, clinical care and operational integrity.
In addition to accreditation, AMOREM maintains robust compliance safeguards, including staff training on fraud, waste and abuse; internal audits; clear documentation and billing standards; separation of key operational roles, and confidential compliance reporting mechanisms.
