AMOREM makes upgrades to its Valdese Campus

AMOREM has made multiple upgrades to its Valdese campus with additional upgrades planned.
Renovations began on the Valdese campus in the summer of 2023, with the oldest building on campus. The building was first built as a residential unit and later converted into office space.
“Our goal for the Valdese Professional Center was to design a space to foster collaboration, enhance comfort and support the critical work of our team.” Says Chief Executive Officer April Moore. “The creation of a more functional and welcoming office space ensures that our team has the tools and environment needed to continue to provide exceptional care and support.”
The space was transformed into a collaborative workspace for clinical teams and is now called the Valdese Professional Center. It features café style seating, rolling desks, standing desks, cubicles and couches that allow clinical teams to work closely on plans of care and patient needs. Previously, the building was capable of housing 10-12 team members. It can now accommodate up to 42 team members.
“We are honored to provide our compassionate clinicians with a collaborative space in which they can dispatch services to provide quality, thoughtful, loving care to patients and families in our community,” says Vice President of the Burke Service Area Laura Anderson. “It is a privilege to work in this new, beautiful space alongside the AMOREM team and bare witness to their passion for the care that they provide.”
Upon completing the Valdese Professional Center, renovations began in the Valdese Administrative Building. A new door access control system was installed, flooring and carpet was replaced throughout the building, wallpaper was removed and replaced with fresh paint, bathrooms received updated fixtures, lighting, stalls and counters and the staff kitchen was renovated.
Up next, AMOREM prepares to renovate the Valdese Patient Care Unit.
Upgrades to the patient care unit include a new door access control system that has already been installed, a new nurse call bell system, upgraded cameras, an upgraded fire system, new carpet and flooring, an upgraded HVAC system that will allow patients and families to control their individual room to the setting they desire, updates to all the common area furniture and a commercial washer and dryer which have already been installed.
In addition to the list of upgrades, patient rooms will be renovated to better support the needs of patients and families. All of the furnishings in the rooms have already been upgraded including loveseats, which fold out into beds, recliners and nightstands.
“The rooms will be renovated in such a way that it allows for a better flow for nurses to navigate the room to provide comfort-care and symptom management,” Jeanna Wilson, director of facility services says “We also will widen the patient room doorways to allow space to utilize bariatric patient beds, to ensure we can accommodate as many patients as possible.”
New additions to the patient care unit will include a fully furnished family kitchen, a complete renovation of the existing sunroom and the addition of a Team Center to provide clinical care teams with a space to discuss patient needs and hold interdisciplinary meetings to provide the highest quality of care at all times.
“These renovations are more than an upgrade to our facilities – it is a tangible demonstration of our commitment to our mission to provide quality, thoughtful loving care for generations to come,” says Moore.
Many of the renovations to AMOREM’s Valdese campus were made possible through grant funding and donations from generous community members.
