AMOREM helps make more time for what matters most
It has been said to enjoy the little things in life, for one day you will look back and realize that those were the big things.
AMOREM realizes that every moment matters. Through its mission-driven approach to care, AMOREM works to improve quality of life and create MORE time for the moments that matter most. According to the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) surveys, families report that AMOREM improved quality of life for the patient and their family. In fact, AMOREM scored above the national average.
A recent study by Teleios Collaborative Network, utilizing data from the National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation (NPHI) and The John A. Hartford Foundation on What Baby Boomers Want in End-of-Life Care, shows that they want “to live better longer”. Key findings from the study include:
- Comfort and peace rank higher than longevity
- MORE focus on quality of life vs. extending life
- “At home” is top choice for end-of-life care
These findings emphasize that quality of life is a significant priority for today’s aging adults.
At AMOREM, hospice and palliative medicine focus on supporting the whole person—body, mind and spirit. The organization’s care teams treat each patient as a unique individual, delivering care that respects their wishes and values while guiding and supporting families and loved ones every step of the way.
Medicare requires hospice agencies to provide a set of basic services for each patient. However, in every area of hospice care, AMOREM does more than what is required. Their commitment to doing MORE can be measured by the enhanced services they offer, which exceed the basic requirements, including:
- Cardiac care at home
- Dementia care program
- Massage and aromatherapy
- 11th hour volunteers
- Patient care units
- Pet visitors
- Pet assistance fund
- Legacy project
- Vigil music by the bedside
- Veterans Honoring Veterans
- Community grief support
AMOREM offers these enhanced services because they believe they improve quality of life for patients and families and help create MORE time for the important things—like blowing bubbles with your granddaughter or a simple conversation about nothing…that means everything.
“People often think hospice care is only about the end of life, but it is really about helping people live as fully and comfortably as possible in the time they have”, said CEO April Moore. “Our goal is to support patients and families in a way that allows them to focus on the moments that matter most.”
